11/18/14 Top Pick; The Last Space Bender

snowflake Color – I really enjoy the rainbow of colors that extends over all the positive Space in this design. The figure created out of the negative space sits boldly and simply amidst the positive areas.

snowflake Texture – The light washes of color give this design an airy, cosmic feel.

11/18/14 TopPick; Bat Attitude

snowflake Lines and Forms – Barbara Gordon is ready to BATter up! Wonderful thick line work. The thiner lines within the figure add a wonderful rough texture.

snowflake Composition – I really enjoy the simple composition of all the lovely girls in this series. The figures are all in varying sitting poses on a simple stamped background.

snowflakeColor – The varying purples, cool grays, and golds work wonderfully together. I don’t usually rock purple. I believe I only have one purple tee shirt, so I might just have to buy this one!

11/18/14 TopPick; Whip It

snowflake Lines and Forms – I would love to rock Selina’s outfit; it’s so CATTY! Again, the thick line work gives the design a bold look while the thin inner lines add detail.

snowflake Compostion – Like the rest of the series, I really enjoy the lovely figure sitting simply on the stamped background. The background has just been simply rotated to better balance the figure.

Sorry folks! I didn’t like any shirts yesterday. But today is a new day! Here are my Top Picks:

zebratees_hold-me-thrill-me_1401927497.full

06/04/14 Top Pick; Hold Me Thrill Me

starComposition – Great bold block design. Their strong embrace is centered within the block created by the heavy text. The diagonal rain lines nicely break the square to create a larger square giving the design dimension.

starColor – Although the design is in black and white, the variety of lines give it color. Catwoman’s dark suit and black background is balanced nicely with  Batman’s suit and the heavy text.

06/04/14 Top Pick; Infinite Who

starComposition – Nicely balanced triangular-shaped design. The text sits nicely on the pyramid’s base in a tattoo style banner.

starColor – I really enjoy the shades of blue used. The blues look great with the light cool cream color. I really enjoy the light bright blue highlights making the design glow.

starTypography – The type is probably the reason why I like this shirt so much. I really enjoy how the word “Who” was created. The Doctor Who components are expertly placed in the negative spaces to create the letters forms. I also really enjoy the tattoo style script in the banner.

04/15/14 Top 3 Pick; Batpop

Na na na na na na Batman! Here we have Batman’s Rogues Gallery rendered in the style of Andy Warhol. Wonderful use of block colors and simple lines to form these infamous villains. The colors create very interesting shapes and dynamic negative spaces all contained within a grid composition.

04/15/14 Top 3 Pick; The Cannibal

“The Devil is in the details.” This design has both in spades! This horned figure is made up of amazing line work. The thick and thin line variation nicely show the contours in the face. The disembodied head with red eyes looks dark and malevolent.

Tip: This shirt is best enjoyed with some fava beans and a nice chianti.

04/15/14 Top 3 Pick; Little Robin

Every hero needs a sidekick right? Meet the original sidekick, Batman’s Robin! A hilarious literal interpretation of the character’s moniker. He’s ready in his gear to fly by and fight crime. His little garment, gloves, and mask are delicately illustrated. I enjoy the soft earth tones color scheme.
