The final season is coming up!! I have been busy re-watching previous seasons getting ready for the last. The trailers make this season look very intriguing, but I still love season 1 the best!

starComposition – Amazing Art Nouveau style Disney princess. Ariel sits bright in the center as the various little icons of her character are nicely laid out in circular shapes radiate around her.

starColor scheme –  All the colors look amazing together. I especially like how the gradients really give the design depth. I enjoy how the green tones with the bright purple create a nice contrast.

starLines and Forms – The wonderful lines in the design really help give it an Art Nouveau appearance. I really enjoy the various thicknesses of the lines creating complexity. The forms and curve of the mermaid’s body are delicate and wavy giving her an “Under the Sea” look.

Amazing bold composition contained within the large red circle. The bright red is extremely eye-catching, especially since it is cleanly set on a white background. The solid bold colors also give the design a woodblock print appearance which works nicely as a shirt design as well. All the little curves in the wave breaks create a wonderful complex texture and make up the traditional Japanese “Great Wave” style. Godzilla literally comes out of the water about to crash on shore like a wave. An excellent visual metaphor depicting the wave of Godzilla about to crash onto Japan.

Wonderful design composed of the different house sigils of Game Of Thrones. All the animals seem to nicely compliment each other . They fit together nicely while clawing at each other to sit on the Iron Throne. I also very much enjoy the color scheme. The animals seem to be depicted in a warmer cream gray while the background is a nice cool blue gray . The floral decorative design uniting the composition is composed of the red leaves of the great weirwood trees. The Iron Throne sits in the middle of the design, with the wolf and the lion most closely vying for control. This focal point of the design is also the focal point of the show, as the Starks of the North battle the Lannisters in the South.

The Lannister brothers look suave in their dark shades and black Blues Brothers attire. I very much enjoy the monotone design with a few bright yellow areas that pop and add contrast. Their golden additions (Jaime’s hand, Tyrion’s rings) also help lead the eye from their stylized faces to the bold, bottom text. I really enjoy the collage feel of the design. The faces of the actors, their suits, accessories, and even how they are posed together  look pieced or cut out and pasted together. This is also translated to the text, where some is contained within a cut out white box.

Tim Burton meets Steven Spielberg in this delightful mash-up. Come out boys and girls of every age and see something strange in the town of Halloween! This is Halloween, this is Halloween! Jack magically flies with his good pal Zero in front of a huge glowing moon. I am really drawn to the enlarged moon. It is bright, round, and placed dead center acting like a bullseye for the design. Jack and Zero are nicely contained within the large nicely textured moon giving them full attention. The scene below is calm, evenly textured, and simple so as to leave the attention on the characters within the moon. I really enjoy the details of the bicycle. The spider web spokes of the wheels and the pumpkin basket are finely rendered. If Jack rode a bicycle this is definitely the one he would ride.

Wooooow! This was my exact reaction during this scene in the movie. We see something light up bright blue, then rapidly the light trails upward and blasts out of Godzilla’s mouth! This was probably my favorite part of the film! This design nicely portrays this event. The bright blue blast was jaw dropping! (especially for the giant Muto!). It’s okay, most people don’t laugh at my jokes! Godzilla’s upward radioactive fire-breathing pose is epic and well rendered. I enjoy how the artist added the blue gradation on the monster’s body giving it texture and also helps show how the blast builds up from within and erupts upward. The large and bold block glyphs fit nicely with this large bold giant. The glyphs also seem to resemble the large broken down building in the midst of the destruction. Love it!

PIKA!!! This design is electrifyingly (yes, I made that word up) awesome! Pikachu is glowing as he powers up for an attack! The cloudy yellow color bellows within the body creating a wonderful texture while setting a nice backdrop for the brighter thin bolts. The bright bolts make up most of the outline which gives Pikachu a radiating electric static appearance. While this design looks simple in a monotone yellow on black, the textures make this design positively explosive!

“T-Rex doesn’t want to be fed. He wants to hunt.” Just like the titans, this dinosaur is busting through the wall and ready to eat some unsuspecting humans! This red monotone design captures the terror, the fear of the moment. I enjoy the large T-Rex head dominating the top center. Having both the dinosaur’s head and the main human figure both in focus creates tension. The rest of the design, including the T-Rex’s body is out of focus and hazy which creates depth and is wonderfully descriptive without taking away from the emotion between the man and the dinosaur. The small highlight of white also nicely leads the eye between both figures. I also enjoy that the wall motif is not forced upon this design, but is a natural part of the design and occurs in the film. Kudos!
