Color – Wonderful earth tones married wonderfully with Princess Tiana’s gorgeous skin tones, both human AND frog! I really enjoy this design on the dark chocolate and military green option. (I bought the green!)

Lines and Forms – Beautifully detailed frame using organic quality lines. There is also a lovely play with positive and negative spaces.

“You’re one UGLY mother****er”. I love Arnold Schwarzenegger! This is definitely one of my favorite Schwarzenegger movies.

Texture – Wonderful amount of texture. The shapes are simplified, but together create a wonderful amount of details. I really enjoy the black spots around the green face because they create the texture and color of the Predator’s skin.

Color – The splashes of color create a three-dimensional look. The deep colors recede as the bright green pops out. The stark white highlights in the teeth and crazy hair/dreadlocks contrast nicely.

Fear Factor – The large bright Predator head looks like it has its prey in sight. The ominous red alien characters are counting down your demise.

Have I mentioned that I really enjoy the Horror genre? Well, if I haven’t before, today’s selections definitely express it!

Texture – Complex and creepy burnt flesh drip across Freddy. All the disgusting nooks and crannies are well rendered with detail by hatching.

Fear Factor – His large, pedophile eyes seem to look straight at you. His big claw hands are dead center. Don’t sleep on this design…

Lines and Shapes – Wonderful use of positive and negative space. The thin white lines nicely create the complex positive space filled with excitement and terror!

Composition – Wonderful geometric Art Nouveau frame. I really enjoy the different blocks of shapes that are nicely bilaterally symmetrical.

Lines and Forms – The complexity of the ratio of thick and thin lines in the design creates a wonderful Art Nouveau appearance. Elvira is seductively well-rendered. I really enjoy her curvy body and her skin peeking out.

Color Scheme – I really enjoy the combination of the deep mauve with the red outlines. The light cream color is also nicely balanced. The composition is unified with the two skulls and the spider webs with her skin in the center.

05/13/14 Top 3 Pick: Poke Fighter II

This shirt is a KO! I guess this is the next evolution of fighters. Awesome collection of mashed up characters featuring the original eight “World Warriors”: Ryu, Ken, Guile, Zangief, Dhalsim, Chun-Li, Blanka, and E. Honda. The little figures are nicely placed together in their action pose. Each Pokémon figure nicely emulates a Street Fighter through their outfits or hair style. Blanka/Pikachu is a particular standout. Great solid bold colors and heavy bold lines. I enjoy the combination of both franchises’ fonts to create this hybrid bold block title.

Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, and Venus. Sailor Moon and her fellow guardians are all here in a bold team pose. Like zoinks! The spooky and iconic Nosferatu shadow scene with a comical twist. This monotone design portrays the mysterious vampire’s shadow lurking behind two of the Mystery Machine’s members. Shaggy and Scooby seem to slink up the stair, frightened as usual with the long-nailed monster in pursuit. I enjoy the wonderful well-shaped dark silhouettes in the dim-lit scene.
