06/18/14 Top Pick; Bete De L’Apocalypse
Great design depicting Hellboy as a prancing demon, labeled with his real name Anung Un Rama (“Upon his brow is set a crown of flames”).
Color – Nice creamy light yellow paired with the deep crimson red creates a nice contrast.
Concept – Interesting concept of having Hellboy look like the infamous French Quina Imp Poster.

His side slicked hair, light gray suit, and bright red tie make Pee-Wee easily recognizable.
Composition – Wonderfully balanced frame around main figure. The horrors of the forest seem to surround poor Pee-Wee.
Lines and Forms – Each animal is nicely formed and rendered in an etch like quality. I really enjoy the bear in the top right. His open mouth and glowing eyes look amazing.

06/18/14 Top Pick; Dark Fiction
Both seductively appealing and horned, this is a match made in hell.
Concept – These two super villains would make an awesome evil team! These two would definitely “shepherd the week though the valley of darkness”.
Lines and Forms – Nice, clean simplified render of both characters.

Sorry folks! I didn’t like any shirts yesterday. But today is a new day! Here are my Top Picks:
06/04/14 Top Pick; Hold Me Thrill Me
Composition – Great bold block design. Their strong embrace is centered within the block created by the heavy text. The diagonal rain lines nicely break the square to create a larger square giving the design dimension.
Color – Although the design is in black and white, the variety of lines give it color. Catwoman’s dark suit and black background is balanced nicely with Batman’s suit and the heavy text.

06/04/14 Top Pick; Infinite Who
Composition – Nicely balanced triangular-shaped design. The text sits nicely on the pyramid’s base in a tattoo style banner.
Color – I really enjoy the shades of blue used. The blues look great with the light cool cream color. I really enjoy the light bright blue highlights making the design glow.
Typography – The type is probably the reason why I like this shirt so much. I really enjoy how the word “Who” was created. The Doctor Who components are expertly placed in the negative spaces to create the letters forms. I also really enjoy the tattoo style script in the banner.
