I drew, illustrated two different beetles using Dr. Ph. Martin’s hydrus watercolors, and Reeves gouache for the highlights. I also used my amazing Finetec Pearl watercolors for the elaborate, art nouveau inspired background.

I confess, I haven’t been checking all the daily shirt sites everyday. I have been crazy busy at my day job and getting ready for a Con this weekend (6/25/16). A couple of my friends and I will have an artist both at VA Comicon in Richmond, Virginia.
If you are in the area, come out and have fun. Stop by to say hi! Row 8, booth C (Aurora)
I was able to find an awesome Tee Fury Collection still available.

Lines & Forms – Wonderful organic lines and forms. Beautiful negative shapes in the frame. I really enjoy the 2D and 3D play. While the female form and drape look dimensional, the negative breaks in the frame flatten the image.
Color Scheme – I love the warm colors in contrast with the cool blues and grays of the leaves on the navy blue background. Although there are warm and cool colors, they seem to harmonize well.
Typography – Wonderful looping script type. It nicely weaves through the field of flowers. It boldly serves at the main component in this design.
Composition – The typography slants across the field leading the eye through the flowers. The little Alice figure in the bottom right corner is nicely balanced with the smaller type in the top left corner.
Also, I love the little branches with buds which add decoration to the flowers. Can you spot the hidden white rabbit? Too cute!
Lines and Forms – Megan Lara! Geez, master of expressing my favorite characters in an elaborate Art Nouveau style. Wonderful thick outlines. Beautiful floral motifs. Expressive hair and doll like faces.
Color Scheme – Wonderful muted earthy hues.
Composition – Elaborate frames which seem to visually retell the story.
