The northern half of the pair. This design is a perfect foil to the other. See if you can spot all the details. It’s like a game of “Where’s Walder?”. Hint: the towers of the Twins are in there for House Frey.

Composition – While this design is slightly different again, wonderfully well-balanced and dynamic combination of components. All the components are slightly different from the other design but work well together also.

Color – Nice icy blues.

Lines & Forms – Great amount of details on such a complex design.

Texture – I really enjoy the distressed texture on the black areas giving them interest and complexity.

Composition – Great use of positive and negative spaces. The men create a dynamic balanced pyramid by their placement in ascending order.

06/09/14 Top Pick; Leia’s Mortal State

Concept – Very interesting concept of mashing up Princess Leia with the Disney Haunted Mansion Stretch Canvas. I enjoy that this design seems to capture an unfortunate event.

Lines – Nice clean lines. Wonderful Disney style render of Princess Leia. I really enjoy the descriptive curving lines of Leia’s flowing gown. Wonderful R2D2 details on the parasol.

Composition – Nicely elongated composition. Leia looks peaceful and serene, but as you look down the monster is a scary surprise. Similar to the tragic Haunted Mansion Stretch Canvases.

Okay, first of all I want to thank everyone who is supporting and reading my blog! Second, I want to explain how busy I’ve been lately. Outside of this blog I have a full-time job, do freelance design and photography, and have a 2-year old daughter. I know, “woe is me”, right?

Anyway, I’m trying something a little different to simplify things so I can get these posts done faster while maintaining quality and the daily post quota.

Creativity – Interesting Tiny Tower and Lord of the Rings concept. I enjoy the little scenes within each level.

Execution – Nice pixel art design with a wonderful amount of details on the simplified figures.

Color Scheme – Wonderful color combinations on the warm gray background.

Figures – Both figures are rendered very nicely in a sketch like quality.

Composition – Wonderful asymmetric design. The larger “Mother of Dragons” head is nicely balanced with the smaller, darker Khal Drogo head.

Texture – Smooth pen and ink texture with interesting ink blots on a light gray background.

Complexity – Great thin lines and dynamic angles in the figure’s hair develop a baby dragon.
