Don’t get between this odd couple or you’ll be swimming with the fishes, literally! The nice elongated design portrays deep submersion. Simple gradation of teal tones on a dark blue background gives it an underwater feel. I enjoy the touch of yellow in the center of the design. The yellow leads the eye straight to the center first, then around and back to the center. The characters are skillfully shaped out of the negative space.

I guess that sweet tooth finally came back to haunt Sesame Street’s Cookie Monster! If the letter of the day is B, then the number must be 3 because this is in my top 3! Hilarious shirt design. Using simple flat colors, Cookie Monster’s face is rendered in complete horror. His hands up and fingers spread apart convey a sense of terror. The Count’s hands seem to gently wrap around Cookie Monster, caressing him as he sucks his blood.

Blade Runner is one of my all time favorite movies. I enjoy watching all zillion versions of the film. The dark, shadowy feel of a film noir is justly conveyed with the use of black, gray, and orange in the design. There are many lovely rendered movie details throughout including my favorite, the origami unicorn. The light outlining of the buildings using only type and downward thin lines is amazing. The Spinner in the top center also hovers nicely in the negative space. The total space is used very well and balanced in a triangle composition.

The typography is well treated, referencing similar shape and texture. The negative space shaped into reaching hands creates a nice fade effect in the bottom of the design. This also creates upward movement giving the main figure center stage. The use of warm, golden tones radiating out from the behind the main figure also helps make him the focal point.

Hilarious shirt design! This shirt makes me think of a 4th of July cook out. It makes me proud to be a ‘Murica. Being Hispanic and the first generation born here, this shirt contains everything foreigners think of when they think of American. The comic rendition and collection of fearsome animals is lovely. I especially love the trucker hat on the eagle in the center. The explosion in the back makes the design look epic.

Wonderful mash-up of clever villains. The God of Mischief looks well in the Joker makeup. The amount of detail on the figure’s face really portrays the artist’s intent to combine both characters. If the actor, Tom Hiddleston, actually put on Joker makeup, this is exactly what he would look like. The high shine, sleek effect given to Loki’s head dress is MARVELous on black. I love the amazing treatment of colors in this design. The loving warm tones given to the outside world show the contrast of the cool, frigid blue hues inside Elsa’s palace. The use of colors to show transparence of the ice on the Tardis show the artist’s exemplary color theory. I love zombies. The Walking Dead is definitely one of my favorite shows. The use of movie quality makeup and special effects in a show is amazing. The detailed creations of Greg Nicotero are not lost in the single color zombie portrait. This entire shirt design is made up if a single color using positive and negative spaces. The other characters, Rick and The Governor, are also shown in detail even with a lack of color. The white bars are evenly balanced, abrupt, and stark on the black background, showing each portrait as a bullet point. What a treat. Looking closely, I savor all the little components from the marshmallow bugs to the creepy faces on the trio of mischievous children. This shirt is offered on a black, purple or brown shirt. I prefer the design on the black and purple options. On black the use of the bright green and bright pink give it a “glow in the dark” effect similar to the black light used in the film. The thick lime green outline around the main components really make it pop. The design on purple looks like it could be on a box, ready to be picked off the shelf, since it is brighter. Wise use of limited solid colors for shading. Overall the design is alive, and full of well balanced components.

This post-apocalyptic zombie hunter is surround by his weapons of choice. The emblem is well crafted with details about the character. The undead, bruised color scheme looks great on both available shirt colors, gray and brown. I enjoy that red-purple outlines, against that faded green-gray conveying masculinity, military supplies, and decay. The figure’s gaunt face and white out eyes in the center of the design is treated in lighter tones making him appear to pop off the emblem background.
